S for Silence

S for ...

Silence

Silence the most powerful expression,
It shows both approval and objection,
It may mean admiration or admonition,
It stands for consensus and dissension.

It cares, it hurts, it may even frustrate,
Into victory or loss, it may translate,
It may kill an argument or fuel a debate,
It may pump up ego or make it evaporate.

It is gust that blows away emotional pages
It is understood by cultures and languages,
Across nations by people of various ages,
Even before they learn to use their verbiages.

Speech is the gift, that makes us unique,
To chose not to use it is a power technique
On fabric of speech, silence is an applique,
Adorned beautifully to add to its mystique.
